For your needs, even laptop w/ B940 is sufficent, let alone i3.

Intel B940 based laptop is considered as budget laptop, Its speed(CPU benchmark) is close to 1st generation i3 on low end. Its GPU is better than what the 1st generation i3 has. It can play HD video(1080p) smoothly.

Usually you can get such laptop around $350 when it's on sale.
