but here is my setup, simple and cheap:

1)TV with HDMI

2) Patriot Media player: pros, play almost everything, including iso file directly; 11n and 100M; Connect to TV via HDMI. Networked via ethernet. USB ports for external HD. Server-free torrent downloading. cons: does not work for Mac files.

3) PS3: for Bluray and game, via HDMI.

4) NAS Server: Readynas duo: redundancy storage and streaming service (to PS3 and Patriot). Low power usage with timed spin down/ on/off).

5) Kitchen PC: http://bbs.wenxuecity.com/computer/193825.html. Low cost, extremely quiet. Connect to a TV tuner to record HD TV programs, which can be played later via Patriot media player.
