I've heard some SSD maker dynamically assign sectors randomly to distribute the write damage. But it is hard to learn that your SSD for $400 will fail because of the root sector is over written.

This will become worse if you repeatedly write small files over and over and over again: your file table will be written much more frequency than other part of the SSD. For read-only and write-less system it could be a better choice.

It is not saving much power though if you count in the capacity.

so the 7200RPM computers can be used on cars and planes without problem, maybe 9600RPM is worse?
