please help...problem after window xp reinstall...cannot connect

cannot connect to internect. I only see 1394 connection option. From what I read, it seems the reinstall cd doesn't have drivers or netowrk adapter or something need for setting up DLS connection. My computer is Dell inspiron. When I get to support.dell.com to look for drivers to download, I am confused about what drivers I need because there are so many of these. When I put in servive code, it shows many drivers mainly for updating. Could anyone tell me what exactly I need to download? Many thanks
