For your reference
1) Get the latest Media Player Classic - Homecinema. This is the best media player. I use build number 1.2.908.0.
2) Then you need the right codec (filters). First get the K-Lite Codec pack, but only install the Cyberlink MPEG2 deccoder. This codec will do hard decoding for DVD, HDTV etc.
3) Then get the Pure Codec, but only install the Cyberlink H.264 decoder and Nero Splitter (NeSplitter.ax). The CL 264 will do hard decoding for 264 HD.
The Nero Splitter will give smooth playback when you play video from a network drive (such as NAS).
4) Then get the DSFMgr.exe. Without this tool, it is a mess because filter-based media players have no idea about which filter to use. With this tool, you can easily give a priority to a codec, so you have the control on which codec you want to use. Make sure above codec/filters all have the highest priority.
5) In MPC, Options, Internal filters, select only FLV for source filters and only AAC, AC3 and FLV1/4 for Transform Filters.
