chart in Word document

I need to print a chart that is pasted from Excel to a Word document. The columns on the chart use pattern fill effects so that one column is different from another when the chart is printed in black and white.

The chart displays fine on the Word document. When I print the chart directly from Excel, the pattern shows on the paper fine, too. However, the pattern on the chart is missing on the paper when the Word document is printed. I only see the solid black/white/gray color for the columns on the printout.

Any Word/Excel expert here, please give a few pointers. Thanks a lot !
