DVD copying is still very much on the leading/bleeding edge, so there may be a lot of kinks to be worked out. What error messages do you get? If nothing at all, my wild guess is the data transfer rates between the two drives don't match, causing data overflow. But I can be totally off the mark. Any error message should help.
