If you have not closed the word program, click "Edit" and open "Office clipboard...". A new window will pop up, check if the part you cut is still there. This function depends on the version of your software.

If you have not saved the file, click "Undo arrow" on the manu bar a few times, see if it can reverse what you have done. Or close the file and choose not to save.

A tip, when I edit an important file, each time I save it with a different serial ending so that I can go back to different editing stages. Example: "file1", "file2","file3a","file3b" etc.
