mappoint is essentially same as streets and trips, except it has demographic data. it covers all functions and datasets of S and T so you will only need mappoint.

Both mappoint and S&T have ** very limited *** gps funciton. they only reads the courrent position of the gps and put it on the map. on the map it just shows your car moving along some road that's it. you cannot setup a route and let the software tell you when to turn. As far as I know, there is no way to transfer waypoint, route or track between the M$ software and a gps. Mappoint/S&T are very good at route planning but you would need to print the route on the paper and just bring the paper.

although mappoint/s&t maps are accurate, forget it if you want it work with gps for more than just display your position on the map.
