Unload the old drive, and install the system on the new one
Unload the old drive, and install the system on the new one, after installation, add the old one to see if it is ok.
My desktop has the ori. window XP on the SATA, I don't want to use it, but I didn't erase it. Instead, I disabled it, and installed window2k server on an IDE harddisk. I connect it to the IDE cable (as master) that is used for DVD/CD drive. For sure, you can install thewindow on a new one. (either sata or IDE drive)
