Need experters help

I have a hp pavilion a1140n desktop computer. It dead yesterday. When I turn on the computer, the screen said "Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". I have try to boot my computer with default load in Bios setup utility window. I also try to use F10 key to recover my computer system. They did not work. I inserted a recover disk in to my computer. The comupter said hard dirive did not find and recovery can not continue. Did these indicate my harve drive was gone? I really need someone to help me. Thanks.
