Help: Why my computer doesn't have sound.

My computer is AMD Athlon 64, K8V motherboard. After reinstalled the Windows XP Professional, there is now sound. The system complains no driver found. I believe my machines has an integrated sound card. How can I find what driver is proper for my machine? I tried AC97 soundmax, but it doesn't work.
