who can solve the Ghost puzzle

Norton Ghost 2004:

Simplified Senerio: Two Disks, one partition each: C for 2003, D for XP

Backup C: to image.

Recover 2003 image from XP partition.

After rebooting, XP is gone, even modified boot.ini file - complained about disk info blah blah.

Had to reinstall XP. Then everything is fine - I can even recover previous XP to the new clean XP partition.


Actual senerio is more complex: Two disks, many partitions:

0: C: W2K3, D: W2K3 Chinese
1: F: XP; G: XPanother; H: backup; I: data.

Any idea why ?
