Here is the solution

1. Open Character Map
2. Select the symbol you wanted, such as alpha.
3. Click Select and then Copy
4. In Excel, highlight your charter. Click righ mouse button.
5. Select Source Data
6. Click on Series
7. Select Series you wanted, in Name field, highlight the letter you wanted to convert to symbol.
8. Ctrl-V to paste the symbol.
