I haven't tried any such device or software

though have heard AR classes led by language experts that target native chinese speakers and sound like they work well. I wouldn't mind trying the professional speech coach if I know a good one that's available nearby. I have a free coach at home :-), so I'm settling for that right now.
One other thing I find extremely helpful is the free online dictionary which has pronunciations.
