I guess I am just annoyed by people with this kind of attitude.
I think you have underestimated the significants of winning the lawsuit.  It may not benifit him greatly, but the whole society will.  Next time, when somebody in a postion of requesting favor from another person who he's got power over, he is going to think twice. 
You and I will not, but it is people like him who writes history.  They've got a single mind and belief to determine what to do, instead of calculating what is worth and what is not worth.
