likes winer, if you asks for something / proposes something, approach it in a constructive way, not as a complaint.

For example, if someone is asking for a raise / promotion, being his/her boss, which one would you like to hear:

1. I'd like to take on additional responsiblities because ....(A,B,C reasons) and I believe you'd agree that I'm ready to advance my career further.

2. I've put in so much efforts and hours on this project, and sacrificed so much time at home....I think I deserve a raise.
