I asked for help a week ago about my interview and reference. I provided three professional reference(my former boss 9 years ago for 2 years, one coworker 10 years ago for 2 years and one coworder 7 years ago for 5 years) and they all are in the same industry (I worked in this industry for about 10 years except the last two years) . then I was asked to provide a reference from direct boss in the past 5 years. I gave the one who supervised me in the past two years but in the different industry. The position I applied for is in the same industries where I worked for long time 2 years ago and now I am asked to provide reference from my direct boss in the past 5 years in the same industry where I worked for in the past except the past 2 years.

I want to tell them I lost connection and can not find him anymore, any suggestions or opinions?
