If you want to work as a school teacher/counselor, some challenges you need to be aware of include: (1) low salary (maybe higher depending on your location. Usu, rich county pays better). (2) patience with kids. Sometimes, it is out of your imagination how they may mi*****ehave themselves. (3) dealing with parents. Parents will come to argue with you if you want to discipline their kids. Sometimes, the principals don't want you to discipline the students because they don't want their school reputations becoming bad. (4) dealing with politics. Student's performance may impact your job. In CA, the teachers' union or the teachers organized to protest against some benchmarks or standards set up by the government for teachers to accomplish.
If these don't bother you, please consider the rich county, which pays better and has more well-behaved kids.
Talk with people (esp, Chinese) who are working or have worked in those disciplines. They can tell you the problems.
