To me, Jasper river is among the most unusual places on this trip, with its river bed and base of the stair-step cascades of Jasper. The water is shallow, mostly only knee-deep and you can easily walk in the river to the base of the falls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jasper is a type of semi-precious stone. When polished, it can be like the following picture. Note that the picture is from Wikipedia.

 

 

The mohs hardness of Jasper ranges from 6.5 to 7 while the mohs scales ratings for diamond, ruby, saphirre, and emeralds are 10, 9, 9 and 7.5, respectively.

 

I hit the edges of Jasper bed using other stones very hard hoping to get souviniours. With sourring arms and smashing stones, I ended up with limited success. Here are some pictures of my pays, which were almost caught by park rangers.
