Urgent help please - Thanks

I was fired last months after 15 years work there (my then boss did not like me since he was hired two years ago but I did not expect I would get fired) and live with unemployment insurance now.

My question is:

1) the next employer will know that I was fired or not if they check with my former employer?

2) when I applied unemployment insurance, I was asked if I was laid off or fired, I said fired. will this become public record and any employer can see it when I apply for new job?
