why they would not do that? Is there a way to extend the time being employed? The situaton is that my friend already started looking and there is a highly possible positon. But the process won't be finished before the lay-off date. If the lay-off date can be extended a little, then he will not face the problem endangering the new job. Otherwise losing the job after interview will be hard to explain.
