ACCOUNTING ERP 的問題（痛苦中求問）

我的帖子快被淹沒了，隻能再發一遍ACCOUNTING  ERP，有童鞋去自費學ORACLE，SAP 的ERP嗎，很多人據說都是工作中學的，但DILIMMA是沒有ERP的經驗怎麽去找ERP的工作呢？有ERP經驗的童鞋們你們都是在哪裏學的？給些HINT， 還想問大家，學ORACLE 好還是SAP好？有ORACLE，SAP 是不是就有ACCOUNTING職業發展的空間，我指的是JOB SECURITY，JOB MARKET DEMAND，SALARY等。 望各位給與指教，謝謝。

-- Many ERP systems are being used in all sorts of business, for example, to get the cheaper one: google Open Source ERP, you will get many. For the large ERP system, you can find the top ten by click here: The top 10 ERP.

-- ERP means Enterprise Resource Planing, it contains many differnet packages and modules. The most popular is Finance package, it contains basic modules like AR, AP, GL, AM, no matter what kind of business the company do , they will always need Finance modules.

-- Depends on the business, the other packages are Supply Chain Mamagement, Manufacture, HR, CRM, BI etc.

-- Since the Financial package is the most popular one,  as a Accounting expert you have advantage than other people who do not know what AR, AP, GL meant.

-- However, directly jump into EPR position is hard, because you do not have basic database skill.

-- No matter what kind of ERP the company use, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft, or Open Source free ERP, there always be databases behind it, and always require you to know SQL language to put database into database and pull data out to generate the report, like daily report, weekly report, end of the month, end of the quater, end of year report, or, like trial balance report (which many people don't know what it means.)

-- Therefore, the first step toward ERP job is not about Oracle or SAP or Microsoft, its about do you know business concept (which you already knew) and database, do you know SQL?

-- Without Database foundamental skills, any ERP training will be rootless.

-- Get Database skill, find a Analyst job as the enter point, then find out what ERP system is being used in that company, then get familiar with it, then join the company paied training.

This is the best and shortest way to become a ERP professional.

如果你是AR AP General accountant的話，越大型的ERP，end user 界麵應該越簡單好用，不用去上什麽ERP速成班，那種培訓根本沒意義，不太笨的人上班2周就培訓得差不多了。

如果你想申請Analyst 以上職位，或者想在ERP 方麵有發展，ERP的基礎是數據庫，我當年入行憑的是：
－ accounting degree & designation
－ MIS degree, database courses

如果你想懂多點，去上database 基礎課程，和SQL。

如果你非要去上ERP課，去念SAP吧，SAP business process比較強，Oracle database比較強，很多SAP的後台還是Oracle。還要準備大筆銀子，我上過幾個 SAP課程，3天2千美金的價位，隻cover非常小的一塊內容，而且要照顧到課堂裏一小半中年老會計，進程極度緩慢，上得我直打瞌睡。

要記得財務行業的根本還是designation，業內最牛的SAP functional consultant，都是有會計拍照的。

常見的兩種Financial System，大公司一般都會用，上手也不難，有用過的經驗會是你更Marketable。但是專門去學好像沒有比要吧。

Business analyst 一般是有會計背景(證書), 同時有工業經驗(比如熟悉零售業, retail, or manufactory 製造業流程的..).

ERP, 目前大型的就是你說的SAP, ORACLE,

微軟的就是Dyanmics AX. 數據庫是SQL. 就是吳音說的database.確其中SQL 2008, 有目前最流行的SSRS, (report service). 

進入ERP, 最大的問題, 是出差. functional consutlant, travel rate can be 80%-100%. Developer, travel rate can be 50%-70%.

除非你進入client公司, 像我這次找到的工作, 就是用戶公司. 你就不用出差, 慢慢的幹, 也沒有人計算你的billable hour, 否則在谘詢consulting firm 你是很辛苦的. 對女性有孩子要照顧的人不合適.

ERP 不難, 就是用多了就會了. 對我來說:) 你要不笨, 喜歡到處 click button, 到處看看, post 一下你的帳目, 從銷售到應收款到總GL, 你走一遍就知道了..

做ERP 最大的好處, 就是將來工作的機會挺大的, 幾乎像點樣子的公司都用它. 所以你從data manager, 到warehouse manager, 有個CPA做controller, 好像都和ERP 有關. 我不做developer, 考考cpa, 估計我是最容易找工作的了, 因為我連係統背後的程序都做了, 對數據流程太熟悉.

總之, 你的學曆背景, 應該將來挺容易雜找工作. 發現一個機會進入一個公司工作, 隻要那個公司用了一套ERP, 你就上手了. 至於你以後學到多少, 看你自己花多少工夫了..

It does not take long to learn AR, AP and GL modules in the ERP system. The most important is if you truely understand the accounting concepts. Many companies are willing to train the ones without ERP background and many people learn ERP in their jobs. Cost accounting is more complex. Manufacturing experience is always a plus.

Once you work in the ERP sytem, the next thing is how you learn. If you just want to do the data entry, it is easy.

If you want to understand accounting modules throughly, my recommendation is to read the ERP instructions, not just accounting department's but purchasing, receiving, QA, sales, shipping even planning and engineering's, etc. Try company's test data base if there is one. Accounging is the ERP end user. Many manufacturing transactions are transalated into accounting language. If you understand the accounting concepts, you can put them together.You will understand what I meant if you have the chance to be exposed to accounting set ups. No ERP system is perfect. You learn ERP in the practice.

You may use SQL and Hyperion to generat different reports. In some companies, the reports are done by the IT dept or experts. If not, you will learn SQL and Hyperion techniques and utilize your ERP knowledge to pull the data from the right table and spot.

No matter what, ERP system is just a tool. Don't be scared if you do not have the background. It makes your resume more impressive if you have some ERP training. Anyway, do not feel shy to show the employer you are a communicator, quick learner, team player, hard worker, a person they can trust....
