Land on a new job in 3 days !!!

Sorry I cannot input Chinese at work, but want to share my story with you all.

Last November I got my last date notice which is 2/15, and I would get 5 months severance payment then(additional 3 months was already paid, total is for 8 months). I came up here to ask when I should start job search. Some suggested ASAP but LaoTu suggested me enjoy the holidays and start in the new year.  I called some recruiter at that time, they all said let’s start in the new year.

So, after the new year, I put my resume on line. Last Monday, got a call from a recruiter and he presented me a great position which fits me very well; Wednesday, first interview with one manager and one director; Tuesday, second interview with another bigger  senior director. They were 4 candidates for the second round interview so I didn’t expected much. by the evening, the recruiter said it’s very good feedback; Friday, I got the offer!! But the issue is they want me to start on 1/24, and my last date with my current is 2/15. I talked to my boss and and my boss’s boss, they negotiated with HR to change my last date as 1/21 without losing the 5 months payment.
