need legal advice

I posted here before about a freind going through hardship at work. he was terminated lately. Originally company offered a severance package so that company would be released from any litigation. A couple of days ago, they found his job interview slides at another company, which may contain some proprietary information. The severance package has been revoked and some investigation is on-going. What would be the worst consequence in this case and what is the chance the worst case would happen?
