Your boss thanked you for 'jumping on line'. It is already sufficient. It means that she/he knew it. What do you expect him/her to say? Want him/her to explicitly say to you that you made the biggest contribution and you were the one? She/he would be unqualified as a manager if she/he said that.

You mentioned that the Sr engineer already stayed up all night. Thus, he did do some work. You should thank him for giving you the opportunity to shine. I didn't see anything wrong that he said you were a 'huge help'. You should have appreciated it.
