Yes, there are 30%+ black population. I live in Huntsville, AL, 3.5 hours away from Atlanta. Huntsville's security is similar to Atlanta. My experience is that white and black people are very segragated in the south. i.e., 30% black in Huntsville, but most of them live in northwest of Huntsville. Very few live in southeast of Huntsville and Madison (northwest of Huntsville), and security in southeast and northwest area are pretty good. My son's class only has 2 black kids (10%), and 30% Asian
