Hahaha. This type of things happen when interviewees

have an estimate that you are quite junior, usually based on looks, young, asian, does not seem to be a high level person. It happens often with american candidates and industrial veterans. They know their boss is their key for climbing the ladder. If they do not have connection themselves in a company (external candidates), their boss is the door opener for them. So they want to know their future superviser's seniority.
from this interview, I think your future employee may be a headache for you if she knows how to maneuver the CFO to get ahead. and seems she is spretty good at this and your CFO is already an advocate for her.
