Is it so strange that a company could

give out an offer without checking the reference?
The new company told me that they will give me an offer letter tomorrow. But at least one of my reference was never contacted. I don't know about the other two?
Do you think that I may hear them wrong over the phone or their HR mixed me with somebody else?
