staying employed is more important than a few more $

I got a verbal offer not long ago... I liked the job and I accepted it immediately on the phone... later the recruiter changed their mind and wanted to offer me $10k less. I accepted it a little unwillingly. It has been 4 months since then and I feel I have been having a peaceful life and feel somewhat satisfied. As long as I can coaster through this recession, a little lower than expected salary is ok. At least my skill will be not rusted while employed.
