how to deal with this trash coworker?

I was forced to take a project which has been declined by my supervisor. My supervisor and previous engineer hold very negative opinion on this exploratory project. The project was held by a school sponsored by the government, but in order to attract attentions, the school wants some companies to participate in; our company has to do so because our general manager is the professor’s previous phd student. I have full workload, plus the technical support for the plants, I have no time to do this non-future project. Recently, they held a meeting at the school, during the discussion at the meeting, even now the very basic principle is not verified. So after the meeting, I just finished the meeting summary and submit the report. One of my coworkers (he is in another group) received my report from his boss, and told me that I should let my supervisor take a look at the report and then send it, he even said he can take a look at it and teach me whatever he knows. What does he mean? BTW, his wife is studying at the school for this project for higher degree. I was so angry, what is wrong with my report? I know it did not go very deep, but I do not think it is worth to study a lot, not our project, we just participate. How to deal with such kind of coworker? He is just an engineer in another group, I am also an engineer, but he is here for three years, I am here for 10 months.
