Some clarification:Who can you trust at work? Suggestions Please
Thanks for those who replied. Here is some background info about the situation.
When I first joined the company, my then manager wanted to make the PM the program manager (it is just a title, it is still an individual contributor position, not a promotion.) Then after a few re orgs, my then manager was out. The PM was made our acting manager reporting to a new director (chinese). The director didn't make him the acting mgr. I think the Chinese director wants to bring in his own people. So has not been willing to make the PM the real manager. Besides the PM doesn't have backing from others in the company. That is why he is frustrated. He feels insecure because he is just a PM, he doesn't have knowledge in our business area.
My speculation is he did it because he feels insecure. Our organization is going through another re org. He wants to keep threat level as low as possible.
I am just considering what to say to the director. I think the directory might be willing to help me. But I have to present my case carefully. Any suggestions?
