請幫我看看我的問題

today my boss told me that I was a great post-doc but not a great research associate. i have been trying my best to help the people in the lab and to serve the lab, which is part of my job as a research associate. but i do think i need his authorization in some issues because others can easily ignore what i said or suggested. but my boss told me that i don't need his authorization since it is part of my job,he just wanted me to solve any problems without any authority.

for example, i know well where things are and how they are organized in the lab. when i know someone needs something, i usually help them find and tell them the right way to organize things especially for the new-comer so that everyone will get benefited from the organization. but in most case, the new-comer or others would like to get things in their own way without telling me. my boss did not tell them to ask me either. When problems come out like something are run out or out of order, my boss would ask me to clear up the mess. Today the same things happened again, i asked the authorization from my boss but get refused. Please advise me how to deal with the things? feel very tired! Thanks a lot!
