私立大學的問題：私立學生錄取靠包裝，非天賦（4）

我現在是斯坦福大學的大三學生。作為一名來自低收入家庭的獎學金生，我基本上是校園裏的外星人。

我遇到的幾乎每個人都告訴我，他們的父母從高中一年級開始就聘請了導師來幫助他們製定進入斯坦福大學的生活，讓寫作專業人士查看他們的論文，SAT/ACT學術教練等。令我驚訝的是，這些學生獲得了多少機會，而作為一個低收入學生，我們必須付出 50 倍的努力才能完成同樣的任務。

I am a current junior at Stanford University. Being a scholarship student coming from a low-income household, I am basically an alien on campus.

Almost everyone I’ve met told me their parents hired tutors starting their freshman year of HS to help them formulate their lives to get into Stanford, had writing professionals look over their essays, SAT/ACT academic coaches, etc. It amazed me how many opportunities were just handed to these students, and as a low income student, how we would have to work 50x harder to achieve the same task.
