The logic is:

Laughing at me or my kid does not make my original statement LESS convincing.

To refresh your memory, here is what I said:

Wouldn't it make your worry that the BEST student may not be the most innovative?

Risk-taking is not something the BEST student will consider a safe route to be No. 1.

Jumping from imitation to innovation needs a quantum leap.
