if this is a 15 year old Alternator, very likely it need to

be replaced, one time measuring won't gurantee it is in good condition, the charging voltage need to be stable.

you might buy a battery/alternator tester from amazon or Ebay for 20/30 bucks and check both your battery and Alternator.
