I think he is right. Mine had a leak and nearly ran out.

The neck of spead cable was broken and very hard to open up for checking. Until one the trnsmission stuck and I had to pry it open with chisel and hammer.

Still the color was not bad for the only 1/3 gear oil left.

If I remember right, the manual said to be extremely careful not to use the wrong fluid.

I think the other fluid was ATF type F, and if you mix (manual says), it can cause explosion. So now I am thinking maybe the former owner of LZ's car changed the fluid type and did not flush it completely. Just my guess.
