It is certainly the engine oil that we have it replaced in 3-5k mile intervals.

But what is "camshaft end cap"?

The camshaft is a metal piece, and a major part in the engine head. It should not have an end cap. We actually cannot see the camshaft without opening the cylinder head cover. I guess the mechenic was talking about some oil leak on the cylinder head cover or valve cover.
