how do you know it's sensor issue?

what year and what model?  first you need to check if system has required pressure in it.  when freon is leaked out, ie the pressure is lost, your compressor will not be on regardless.  to check this, use an ac gauge; if you don't have it, start engine, charge 1 can of freon, turn on ac switch, if the compressor is on and cold air comes out of center vent, you know the real cuase...
