Honda CRV 2003 Check Engine Light / Code P1259

Yesterday my honda CRV 2003 engine light was on. I went the autoZone to check the code this morning. It comes out Code 1259, which is the problem of VTEC system malfunction. Is this problem serious? Do you think I need to have it fixed at Honda dealer. How much would it be if I ask Honda dealer to fix it? Thanks.
