Bigblow, I personally believe you missed Lyedge's point

Lyedge was trying to say that:

1. There are cases when gas is needed while brake is
pressed. Such as toe-heel, offroad...

2. He also talks about possible failure when brake
switch sensor is malfucntioning. That is when the brake
sensor gives wrong information to computer, the brake
override system may wrongfully disallow you to accelerate at all.
