Interesting. I thought battery lasts longer in mild temperature - not too hot and not too cold. Since in North we need higher CCA to start the car so it's hard on batteries in North. It's not surprising you can not start a car after a cold night with a old battery. But mild weather in South, if not too hot, is good for battery.
