it means #93

many luxury cars require premium gas as clearly indicated on cluster panel. if so, you should use #93, otherwise, you will hear knocking sound from engine. needless to say, it's not good for your engine.

when engineers designed the engine, they already considered what gasoline to be used, as different grade of gas affects its cylinder compression. use only the one specified.

gm and ford have "flexfuel" type engines, that means you can use either low or high grade of gas. its onboard computer determines the gas you put in and adjusts engine to accommodate the fuel.
