N years ago, on a highway driving, the car in front was suddenly stopped so I braked and stopped. I heard a boom in my rear but didn't feel much impact. Coming out, I saw a Honda Accord behind me with front-end and hood being destroyed (the car had to be totaled). Mine was a 86 MB 300SDL, my bumper only got a ding. Later his insurance paid me $500. I didn't bother to fix it as not really noticeable.
