People either
1. Go for BMW for the driving pleasure.
2. Don't know upfront. Get educated and fall in love with the driving pleasure.
3. Find out it's not his/her cup of tea and switch brand.

BMW is a driver's car. Everyone knows the little issues. But people select to live with it, simply because the driving pleasure overwhelms the pain. It like if you love a girl so much, you will just ignore her little attitude.

BMW with Lexus reliablity is probably too much to ask. The choice is whether you want reliable/boring or exciting/high maintaince. BMW enthusiasts choose the letter. It's a life style indeed.
