LLC: a single person or multiple persons, which one is more flex

Already have a LLC, only a single person when filed for organization a few years ago. 

Does it make sense to change to multiple-member LLC (basically hu*****and or wife)? What are the pros and cons? For tax purpose? for liability shielf purpose?
