Jephthah 由妓女所生， 是個勇士。 聖經真不由人的邏輯 -- --  耶穌生在馬槽。。最死心塌地跟隨耶穌的是個妓女Mary Magdalene，而不是他的十二個門徒。 最早發現耶穌的複活也是她。 約書亞記中，約書亞派的探子也由妓女幫忙隱藏。 她的幫助對猶太人能進應許之地功勞大大。 猶太人曆史上最著名的大衛王的母係卻來自外邦人 Ruth. 耶穌也是從這個血脈傳承下來等等。。。

傳道書中說不能輕易許諾。 否則後果不堪設想

Ecclesiastes 5: 1-5
1. Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heavenand you are on earth, so let your words be few.

3 A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool.

4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.

5 It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.


這個故事並不是傳說。 士師記 11:40 calls it a yearly four-day holiday。

Judges 11:40
that each year the young women of Israel go out for four days to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite.
