2004 年4月1日─江湖傳來消息，香港最大黑幫集團侯家，欲暗殺一個月後上任之候任警務處長王振揚。三個各不相幹的警察，包括重案組警長馮誌偉〔方中信〕、情報科高級督察黃家輝〔鄭嘉穎〕及臥底警員楊啟東〔譚耀文〕，均被牽連在內。
侯家掌舵人侯文華〔魏俊傑〕與泰國黑幫頭子Sam 〔ChatchaiPlengpanich〕結盟，泰國刑警Rita〔SriritaJensen〕接手調查。

在公在私，輝都必須於三十日內完成任務。他發現有組織罪案及三合會調查科高級督察陸耀國〔陳豪〕與華的關係極不尋常，因而從他身上著手調查。國不久被殺，他死前曾與偉見麵，加上偉與華女友彭慧〔蒙嘉慧〕過從甚密，因而成為輝的調查目標。另方麵，Rita亦懷疑國的死另有內情，於是與輝聯手偵查。行動每每功敗垂成，輝不禁懷疑Rita的身分。偉被同袍懷疑之際，本身亦展開了對Sam的調查。然而Sam多次出手相救，叫偉不知Sam究竟是敵是友。
華終被拘捕，偉、東、輝準備度過平靜的一天。此時，三人竟分別被捕！謎底，將在4月30日揭盅……
