佛州小女子今日在何方？

六年前的美國總統大選，由共和黨總統候選人的弟弟做州長的佛羅裏達一個叫哈裏斯的小女子州務卿一錘定音，把共和黨的候選人送進了白宮。為此，這位在邁阿密海灘上長大的小女子一舉成名，是美國共和黨選民的英雄。而民主黨的選民，則對這位小女子恨之入骨，極盡諷刺挖苦之能事。　

 

Nov. 14, 2000: Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris announces she will certify the election day results on Tuesday as required by law after U.S. District Judge Middlebrooks has rejected a pleading to stop the hand count.

Democrats argue that this is a partisan move, as Harris was co-chair of Bush's Florida campaign. They believe she should have stepped down from her duties as head of elections.

Nov. 15, 2000: Florida Supreme Court rejects request from top election officials and Bush campaign to halt all hand counts. Gore says he would abide by the results of hand recounts in three Florida counties, and would support a full recount of all 67 counties if Bush requested it. Bush rejects offer. He now leads by 300 votes in ballots certified Tuesday by Harris, who announces she will ignore manual recounts and certify original machine counts plus absentee ballots Saturday.

大家也都知道，小布什這個人，知恩必報，不是不報，時候未到。可是六年來，那個叫哈裏斯的佛州小女子，究竟到哪裏去了呢？又撈到什麽好處了呢？

果不其然，小女子一點也沒有閑著。首先，是２００３年１月成功當選美國第１３選區（佛羅裏達選區）的眾議員。這中間有沒有兩布的暗中幫助，不得而知。

２００６年，小女子再接再厲，馬不停蹄，自費一千萬美元，再戰佛羅裏達，希望和希拉裏一樣，成為在美國曆史上舉足輕重的女參儀員。

小女子能不能如願以償，鬼才知道。因為據說布什家族裏的二老板，對這位凡事張揚，不知滿足的小女子，已經開始有點兒討厭了！

當年承受救命之恩的小布什總統，也顧左右而言他，不置可否。
