MIT Opencourseware

I recently stumbled upon the MIT OpenCourseWare so that I can learn some introductory computer programming. I found the same class that you can take at the University of Minnesota for $1700 for free on this site, which is absolutely phenomenal. I was a little skeptical on the quality of the content like viewing videos, getting access to reading materials, and doing problems sets, but truly this site is very well organized and very easy to use. Click here to view Course 6: Introduction to Computer Science and Programming If you go to the list of courses they offer, they have 1900 classes to choose from, everything from the hardcore engineering sciences to humanities.

What's really cool about this site is that they have added a new edition just for high school students. I wish I would have known about this much sooner! The site is designed to help high school students who want to earn high scores on the Advanced Placement tests, especially Physics, Math, Chemistry, and Biology, if the courses are not offered at the high school. Click here for MIT's High School Courses  They offer videos by MIT Professors who are very effective at teaching compared to just reading a test prep book. The site is designed for both teachers and students.
